At the March 28, 2012 Brookfield Board of Education Board meeting the Auditor of State’s Office presented to the Board the findings of an audit performed to determine if the District is able to be removed from Fiscal Watch. The findings determined that the District is expected to operate at a deficit this year and in the coming years. While the District projected to operate at a deficit in the coming years it was projected to operate at a small surplus this Fiscal Year. This presentation explains what changed between the District’s forecast and the Auditor’s forecast and what plans the District is undergoing to correct the issues presented.
