Brookfield Senior Selected for Ohio Attorney General Teen Ambassador Board Program

TJ Kirila, a senior at Brookfield High School, is the first student from the district selected to participate in the Ohio Attorney General Teen Ambassador Board Program.

The program started in 2013 and consists of high school juniors and seniors from public, private, charter, and online schools in Ohio. The goal is to provide Ohio’s future leaders with an inside look at Ohio law and government.

Students in the program serve a one-year term. They convene twice in Columbus and participate in activities across the state. They also have an opportunity to meet with Attorney General Dave Yost. Kirila traveled to Columbus on August 5th where he was able to meet mentors and other ambassadors, and participate in interactive learning sessions.

Kirila applied for the Teen Ambassador Program in June and was selected in July. He demonstrates excellence in and outside the classroom. Kirila serves at Class President, Student Council President, and Treasurer of the National Honor Society. He also participates in many community service projects, as well as athletics.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to work with students across the state and share ideas about how to improve the lives of Ohioans” said Kirila.
