It has been a pleasure to serve the Brookfield Local School District since February of 2017. When I first arrived, the District was struggling financially for some time and the first day on the job was a challenge. At that time, we were in Fiscal Emergency for over 3 years and working our way towards being financially independent again.
Immediately, I began working with administration and staff to look at every detail. This started with renegotiating all District contracts and finding many opportunities to save money without sacrificing educational goals. Developing a close working relationship with the Superintendent was essential to our success and this teamwork helped the district emerge from Fiscal Emergency in 12 months. While fighting our way out of financial troubles, I was also presented with an opportunity to save the taxpayers of Brookfield money in the form of property taxes. In November of 2017, I helped lead the District through a bond refunding (similar to refinancing your house) which saved tax payers over $2 Million dollars over the remaining life of our bonds (as related to the bond issues passed in 2005 in order to construct the K-12 educational campus)
It is my goal to always serve as a good steward of the public funds. Without the support of our community, education would not be possible. If you have any questions regarding school funding, please feel free to contact me personally. I would be happy to talk or meet with anyone or any group in our community.
