BOE Member Receives Service Award for a Second Time!
Ronda Bonekovic
For the second time in two years, Brookfield Local Schools Board of Education member Ronda Bonekovic has received the Ohio School Boards Association (OSBA) STAR Service Award! Her first STAR recognition came in 2023.

The award is a distinct award and is part of the OSBA’s STAR Awards program recognizing Service, Training, Aptitude, and Recognition. Board members must earn a required number of points in a three-year period for service and training and then receive an 80% score on an aptitude test in order to be recognized as a model board member. Of the 3,400 board members in Ohio, only 71 are receiving a STAR Award from OSBA this year.

In an email sent to the district, OSBA Director of Board and Management Services Cheryl Ryan says, “Your efforts reflect a true commitment toward public education and the importance you attach to your role as a school board member. Thank you for your dedication.”

“I am honored to be chosen again for this award," Bonekovic says about the honor. "All school board members are deserving of this award. Sometimes this isn't an easy job, but I always look at what is in the best interest of the students, staff, and district!"

Bonekovic has been a member of the Brookfield Board of Education since January 2010. She will be recognized for her 2025 STAR Service Award and 20 years of service to the Brookfield BOE at the OSBA’s spring conference in March. Congratulations Ronda, we appreciate your dedication to the Brookfield Local School District!
