BHS Senior Named to Class of 2022 Twenty Under 20!
Congratulations to Brookfield High School Senior, Abigail DeJoy - she's been selected as a member of the 2022 Class of Twenty Under 20!

Now in its 10th year, the program, co-sponsored by the Tribune Chronicle, Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley, and Kent State University at Trumbull, honors 20 high-achieving individuals younger than 20 for their leadership skills through volunteerism, extracurricular activities, and academic achievements. Abby says she was encouraged to apply for the honor by BHS Counselor Mrs. Pegg. She was one of 68 individuals in Trumbull County to submit an application for consideration. Event organizers say that's a record. "I got a phone call to let me know about my selection," she says. "I am absolutely shocked to be receiving this honor, I have no words."

At BHS Abby is extremely involved in clubs, sports, and extra-curricular activities. She is a member of both the basketball and softball teams, a co-captain of the Majorette squad, member of the concert band, SADD, Student Council, National Honor Society, and the Future Teachers of America.  She also assists in the Athletic Department and operates the first down marker during football games. Abby is also active in her church, volunteering in the nursery, running audio/visual equipment, and leading Youth Groups. She's also been on two mission trips, one to Honduras and the other to Romania.
The Twenty Under 20 2022 Class will be featured in a special magazine and recognized at a banquet to be held in December. The top five winners will be selected to split $1,000 to be donated to the local charity of their choice. One overall winner will be picked from among the five. Congratulations Abby - we are so proud of you!
