Two Athletes Score 1,000 Career Basketball Points

Congratulations to BHS Senior Isaiah Jones, he is the second student-athlete to score 1,000 career basketball points in the span of a week! Jones hit his career milestone on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 during a 75-70 victory over Garfield. “I knew after the first quarter, when I scored eight, that I had a good chance,” Jones says. “I was feeling good that day.”
Jones would go on to score a total of 32 points in that game, which was more than enough to put him in the 1,000 Points Club. “It was so exciting,” he says about that moment. “My grandma was visiting from California so I knew I had to get it done. I’m so glad she got to witness that moment with me!”

Like the few before him, once the season comes to an end, Jones’s name and total career points will go up on the 1,000 points board hanging in the BHS gym. He will be the ninth person in school history to have his name there. “My grandpa would always tell me, ‘You’re name’s going to be up there someday,’ so it’s always been something I’ve thought about,” Jones says. “I’ve worked hard to get here so this is a really big deal for me.”

Jones is a multi-sport athlete for BHS, playing football (his first love) and also running track. Congratulations Isaiah!

It’s something only seven students have ever done during their athletic careers at Brookfield High School, and on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, Brookfield High School senior Donovan Pawlowski ensured he would be the eighth after scoring the 1,000th point of his high school basketball career! The milestone event came during a home game with the Champion Flashes. Going into the game Pawlowski knew he needed just 17 points to hit the 1,000 points mark. He scored 10 in the first half and an additional 18 in the second half to put him over the top.“It was amazing,” he said excitedly when asked to describe the feat. “This has been a goal of mine since ninth grade and I was so happy to do it at a game when my whole family was there to witness it!”

Once the season officially comes to an end, his name and career points total will go up on the 1,000 points sign hanging on the gymnasium wall. It’s a small, but elite group of individuals (listed below) and Pawlowski says he’s proud to leave his mark there as well.

“I really didn’t start to think this goal would be attainable until my junior year,” he says. “I know that the support of my parents and my brother helped get me here, and I am thankful to them for always standing by and supporting me!”

Pawlowski is a multi-sport athlete for BHS. This past football season he led the Varsity team to a 9-1 record and was named the Trumbull County Player of the Year. He also plans to run track and play baseball this spring.

Congratulations Donovan!
