“Hard, kinda crazy, wild.” Those are the three words Brookfield High School junior Tyler Miller uses to describe the Adobe Certification exam. He rose to the challenge, though, and on October 1, 2024, Tyler became the first Brookfield student ever to earn the Adobe Professional certification!
The exam is offered as part of the high school’s technology application certification class. Students in the class use online platform GMetrix to work toward earning professional certifications in Microsoft, Adobe, and Google applications. As of October 15, 2024, 53 certifications have been earned since the class started in 2021. Certificates also count as Industry Recognized Credentials (IRC), verification of a person’s competency in a particular skill, which are needed to meet graduation requirements.
According to the Adobe Professional Certification website, the exam includes 30-45 questions that must be completed in 50 minutes. Questions include selected-response items and activities that challenge test takers to solve problems using the Creative Cloud application. Tyler says they have a semester to work towards earning credentials, but he completed the Adobe application in a month. “It’s an exciting accomplishment to be the first in the whole school to earn this certification,” Tyler says. “I want to pursue a computer career so I know this certification will help me secure a job down the road.”
This is Tyler’s third certification, he also has Microsoft Credentials in Word 2016 and Excel 2016 applications. He says he plans to keep going and earn as many certificates as possible before graduation.
Congratulations Tyler, keep up the great work!
