Last Thursday, our elementary students had a fun surprise during lunch when Molly the Cow visited the cafeteria! 🐄

Molly is the mascot for our dairy program and is used as a fun way to teach students about nutrition and healthy eating choices. Her visits help make lunchtime more engaging while encouraging students to try new foods offered at school.

Students also enjoyed sampling smoothies during her visit!

s prom approaches, our students participated in impactful activities focused on the importance of safe driving decisions.

Throughout the day, the “Grim Reaper” visited classrooms and hallways as part of a powerful awareness campaign highlighting the real consequences of distracted, impaired, and unsafe driving. The symbolism served as an important reminder that one decision can affect families, friends, and an entire community.

Later, juniors and seniors gathered for our Prom Promise Assembly, where students signed the Prom Promise pledge and received bracelets as a commitment to making safe choices this prom season.

We also partnered with TADD (Teens Against Distracted Driving), an organization created by the parents of Ashley Jones Davis, to continue spreading awareness about distracted driving. To wrap up the afternoon, our SMASH students hosted a challenge course where participants completed activities while wearing “drunk goggles” to demonstrate the dangers of impaired driving.

A great afternoon filled with important lessons and meaningful conversations. Stay safe, wear your seatbelt, avoid distractions, and never drive under the influence. 💙

The Tribune Chronicle A+ Teacher Award recognizes exceptional K–12 educators in Trumbull County, Ohio. Nominations are submitted by students and parents and celebrate teachers who inspire, support, and make a lasting impact on learning. Each year, 10 outstanding educators are selected, with winners traditionally announced in May.

Freshman Liliana Horsman nominated Mr. Hrusovsky for the award, sharing words about the impact he has had on her life and education. “Mr. Hrusovsky has made a difference in my life by making me go out of my comfort zone — but in a good way,” she wrote. She also shared that “he makes me push myself in a way no other teachers can” and that “Mr. Hrusovsky actually tells us what it’s about and how to do it.”

In her nomination, Liliana highlighted the positive, creative, and supportive environment Mr. Hrusovsky creates for his students. She described the humor, encouragement, and meaningful connections that make his classroom such a special place. Her words reflect the lasting impact he has not only as a teacher, but as a mentor and role model to so many students.

Congratulations to Mr. Hrusovsky on being named one of the ten recipients of the 35th Annual A+ Teacher Award!

Our 4th Graders had an amazing time exploring and learning at the Akron Zoo! From exciting animal encounters to hands-on educational experiences, it was a day full of fun, and discovery.

Students in Mrs. Henry’s Principles of Engineering class recently took on a meaningful project to show appreciation for the many individuals who support our students every day. Each student designed personalized coasters for six staff members, recognizing contributions from our high school staff, custodial team, cafeteria staff, transportation department, Board Office staff, and members of the Board of Education.

After bringing their designs to life through printing, students personally delivered the coasters on Monday as a small token of gratitude.

Our Building Trades 2 Adirondack chair project has officially earned 2nd place in the Builders Association Competition! 🏆

Our team was also invited to a special lunch to accept their award and celebrate their hard work and craftsmanship.

Their 2nd-place finish earned them a $500.00 Power Tool & Supply gift card! 🔧💰

We’re almost there—let’s finish this testing session strong!

🍽️ Special breakfast will be available for our testing students:
• Wednesday: 🍳 Egg & cheese omelet with sausage and biscuit
• Thursday: 🍩 Iced donuts

✨ After testing, snacks will be available for students, and mints will also be provided in classrooms to help everyone stay focused and refreshed.

Students had a great day of learning at the English Festival at YSU! From engaging activities to creative challenges, our students fully immersed themselves in celebrating reading, writing, and the power of language.

Students are designing and creating their own sports logos using a variety of drawing tools and design software. From bold concepts to detailed designs, they’re learning how creativity and technology come together to bring ideas to life.
