Mark, owner of #WhipsMagicShop in Geneva-on-the-Lake, OH and #PerfectOccasionCostumesAndMagic in Middlefield, OH, wowed our students with incredible card tricks and other magical performances while touring our Maker Space. 🌟
Not only did he amaze the audience, but our students will also get the exciting opportunity to redesign props that could be featured in Mark’s shows this spring and summer! 🔮🪄

Mrs. Horn’s 8th-grade students brought some Seuss-style magic to the elementary kindergarten classrooms this week! In celebration of Right to Read Week and Dr. Seuss’s birthday on March 2, the halls were decorated with a fun Seuss-themed display.
Our 8th graders made colorful headbands for their “littles” and shared the joy of reading by reading Dr. Seuss books aloud. After storytime, the kindergartners enjoyed Seuss-themed activities, including coloring pages and crafts, making it a reading experience full of creativity and fun! 📚🎨

This week, Mrs. Williams’ classes welcomed her brother and Brookfield alumnus, Marcus Yensick, as a guest speaker. Marcus shared his inspiring career journey, from growing up in Brookfield and never even hearing about diving as a career, to becoming a Special Operations deep-sea diver with deployments across the Middle East, the South China Sea, and Africa.
While working full-time, he earned a bachelor’s degree in Strategic Studies and Defense Analysis and later served as a Navy Intelligence Officer aboard the USS Gerald R. Ford. He has traveled to 25 countries across six continents and will soon begin a master’s degree in International Relations at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California.
Marcus reminded students that discovering a passion doesn’t require prior experience—hard work and dedication can take you far.

Students in Mrs. Henry’s Principles of Engineering class recently completed an exciting biomimicry project designing and building robots that mimic real animal behaviors in response to their environment.
Check out their creative designs:
🐢 A turtle robot that senses danger and displays “HIDE” on its screen before retreating.
🐂 A bull robot that increases its speed when it detects the color red.
🦨 A skunk robot that raises its tail straight up when it senses fear. Don’t worry no smells included 😄
Through this hands on project students explored sensors programming and problem solving while discovering how nature inspires innovative engineering solutions.

Our Esports team had the experience of a lifetime competing at Cleveland State University for the Ohio Esports Championship! After fierce competition, the team finished 19th—a huge accomplishment and something to be proud of.
