District Presents at LaunchPad Conference

The Brookfield Local School District was one of just five local schools across the state of Ohio invited to present at the LaunchPad 2023 Pathways to Possibilities Summer Workshop held July 31, 2023, in Geneva, Ohio. The event is designed to help those school teams in attendance design, develop, and expand career pathways for their students.

Over the past several years, this is an initiative the Brookfield Local School District has been working to implement within our buildings. To date, we have enhanced and expanded educational opportunities for students to now include coursework in Pre-Apprenticeship/Building Trades, Industry 4.0, Robotics, Drones, Microsoft, MakerSpace/Design, Career Pathways, Career-based Intervention, and STEM. The success of these programs, particularly Industry 4.0 and MakerSpace, led LaunchPad to invite our district to share the vision for and implementation of our programs at Brookfield High School. Superintendent Toby Gibson, Director of Teaching and Learning Kristen Foster, Industry 4.0 instructor Josy Kirila, and MakerSpace coordinator George Lesnansky all attended. They spoke to those in attendance about the vision for each program, how they started, where each program is now, and what the hope is for Industry 4.0 and Makerspace in the Brookfield community in the future.

“We were very excited to have the opportunity to share our district's transformative journey through innovation at LaunchPad,” says Director of Teaching and Learning, Kristen Foster. “By showcasing how Brookfield Schools’ commitment to innovation has driven positive change and opened new horizons for students and our community, we hope that we inspired other districts to embark on similar transformative paths, unlocking new possibilities for their students and communities.”
