Junior is Delegate to the Congress of Future Medical Leaders

The Brookfield Local School District is proud to recognize 11th grader Justin Calip as a Delegate to the Congress of Future Medical Leaders to be held June 26 - June 28, 2024, just outside Boston, Massachusetts on the University of Massachusetts Lowell campus. The Congress is an honors-only program for high school students who want to become physicians or go into medical research fields. Calip says, “I saw the invitation in the mail and I knew it was a great opportunity to learn from some of the smartest people in the world and help set me up for the future.”

Calip was selected to represent Ohio at the three-day Congress based on his academic achievements, leadership potential, and determination to serve in the field of medicine in the future. During the event, Calip will join students from across the country and hear Nobel Laureates and National Medal of Science recipients discuss leading medical research; be advised by Ivy League and top medical school deans on what to expect in medical school; witness stories told by patients who are living medical miracles; be inspired by fellow teen medical science prodigies; and learn about cutting-edge advances and the future in medicine and medical technology.
“I love science, so I’m looking forward to gaining knowledge from the professors at the Congress and using that information to figure out how I can help change the world of science,” Calip says.

Careers in robotics, zoology, biology, medicine research, and athletic training are all options Calip is exploring for his future. For now, he continues to take advantage of opportunities like this Congres to gain additional knowledge for success.
