The philosophy of the Career Based Intervention (CBI) program is to enable students who are experiencing barriers to academic and career success to become fully functioning citizens by assisting them to attain academic competence, employability skills, career direction, independent living skills, and physical and emotional well-being. The CBI programs provides a combination of educational and work-based learning opportunities for student success. Our CBI program model is a single period which is referred to as CBI Related (one class period of instruction focused on job, career, and life-skills) and CBI Work (where a student is working either in the school or out of the district.) In addition to CBI classwork, participating students take Math, English, Science, Social Studies, and Physical Education classes in order to fulfill graduation requirements.
